A straightforward train journey and staff from the ryokan collected us in their shuttle although it’s only a ten minute walk but great with all our luggage. The staff member from Bali spoke good English and helped us throughout the stay but all staff were so friendly and welcoming. Our room had an amazing view of the harbour through a huge window. We had western style beds as well as futon and we enjoyed both. The in room onsen was luxurious with an option to book a private slot in the larger communal one. Dinner was a feast for the eyes and stomach! Multiple courses of beautifully prepared dishes all explained and our vegetarian was catered for as well. We enjoyed the sake recommendation and there were many other drinks on offer. Our room had free tea, cold alcoholic drinks, sakura mochi and rice crackers and after dinner we had a midnight snack delivered as well! Breakfast was just as impressive! The owner gave us a lift back to the station! All in all it was a wonderful place to stay!

Exellent and awesome at the same time! Tatami floors everywhere make nice quiet feeling. Onsens was awesome. Puplic areas was clean and zen. I hope that the turism dont ruin this nice old place.
We spent 4 nights at the ryokan. At first we were worried that the booking would be too long. However we loved the trip back in time to a sleepy onsen town The banquet for one dinner and one breakfast was outstanding. We made the most of the Atami area and having lived in Japan it made everything easier
Had a beautiful ocean view Japanese style tatami room. We were served an INCREDIBLE dinner in the dining room while wearing yukata. Nice hot springs.
Amazing hotel . Private onsen with a mt fuji view . Large traditional japanese style rooms . Very good Yukata for kids in all sizes.
Wonderful location with stunning views of Mount Fuji. Lovely onsen, with hot spring looking onto Mt Fiji. Rooms are spacious, we loved the Japanese Riokan style. Very good evening meal, french style cuisine and good breakfast too. This hotel is a little pricier than our normal choice but it was well worth it for the spa, food and views. Helpful welcoming staff would definitely stay there again.
The hotel staff was super nice and helpful. One of my friends forgot his ear-pods in the room and we had left Izu. The hotel staff quickly helped to send the ear-pods to our new hotel. Good view at the mountain and the stream from the room window. 4 private onsens for reservation and 1 public one. The futons are comfortable for sleep. The traditional Yukata was offered during the stay.
Great value for money in the area, gorgeous spot overlooking the river in a historical Ryokan. Lovely living areas. We wanted to try the private onsen but it was occupied for most of the night. Tatami mats are cosy and air conditioning is in the room.
-location is right in the centre of the town. -reasonably comfortable bedding and facilities - has a onsen/hot spring - historical and traditional styled rooms -relatively cheap - map of all the food places given upon arrival as the place is not equipped to serve food. Had closing time and cuisine. - Yukata and bath towel provided. - heating was adequate and I was not cold at all during the night
I loved the traditional Japanese atmosphere in this 100 year old building. The room had tatami mat floors and futon beds with super fluffy blankets. The staff was extremely kind and helpful and spoke English. The included onsen was a great experience and they had the option of both public and private.
